Philadelphia Ship Model Society

The Philadelphia Ship Model Society is a fraternity of artisans dedicated to preserving, enhancing, researching and perpetuating America’s rich nautical heritage through the art of modeling ships.

Our monthly meetings typically feature skill & technique topical presentations, extensive time devoted to member “Show n’ Tell” ship modeling projects of every imaginable kind, club business and plenty of time to catch-up with colleagues during refreshment breaks. We also encourage members who can’t be present to join our meetings through an online ZOOM link. Our members skill levels range from neophytes to professional model builders. Visitors & member guests are always welcome.

Our monthly newsletter recaps meeting activity, modeling techniques, future programs, developments on the Philadelphia area scene and interesting nautical/naval history.

The third Sunday of the month. Time: 1:00 PM

Free, secure parking.

In addition to monthly meetings, our group has activities including: Summer picnics, R/C “Floats,”our annual ModelCon Exhibition aboard the Battleship New Jersey Museum and various field trips to Eastern seaboard destinations and Modeling Conferences. We also host an annual Holiday luncheon party in December.

You are cordially invited to attend a PSMS meeting and be welcomed by our members who share your interests and meet monthly to show their models, demonstrate techniques & skills as well as explore maritime & nautical history, especially as it relates to the Philadelphia area.
