i have only purched the first 4 lits for this project as there is discount on doing so, the remain sets will wait til August,

it took me a good few hours ti get into the swing of things, instructions are not very comprehansive, but the plans are

the frame is very simular to that of the Enterprize, but the ply is thinner and feels flimsy, but builds up very well and quite sturdy,

day 6

at this stage of the build everything is to be double layered, the prow and keel need duplicating so the to outside facings are identical, on the CAF Enterprize i just sandwich the two together and added the next bit to it, on here however i have completed one side, and then matching the opposite piece to fit, so there should be no massive errors, of course there will be (its me making it)

good evening everone

im now up to 5 frames completed, and the prow is still in progress, i still havent got into a routine of finding time to build, but try to get a few hours in daily,

i wont be cleaning the frames up until im ready to put them into the hull, so they all age at the same time

I wish you a lot of fun with this kit. There is a really nice build log of this kit on SoS.

I hope that CAF will change their decision to use cherry for their kits. I personally don't like the color and also the grain of the timber.

Nice job Kevin! How long did it take you?

a couple months, a few hours here and there, i had to buy a 2nd one to replace one bit that was missing, (think one of the bois ate it), and then threw it in the recycling. hope to frame it this week

If I were to ever do a 1:48 Scale kit, I think this one would be it. Such a beautiful Frigate, and the kit looks to be fantastic.

it is.but like most of my builds, doubt i will do it the justice it deserves🙂

It looks realy nice so far. I realy like the cherry, it has a rather unique, warm colour.

How does everything fit together, or rather, what is your opinion about the kit's quality?
