Model Shipwrights of Western New York

Greetings from The Model Shipwrights of Western New York! We reside in upstae NY in the Rochester environs. We are a realitively young group having been in existence since 2015. Our group has a fairly wide interest in ship modeling of all periods from the 1700s on. The interests and accomplishments include standard kit, semi scratch and scratch builds in wood, and recently paper. We also have a member who has demonstrated his artistic talents in building action dioramas. A number of members have embraced and applied the latest technologies in their projects.

We invite visitors to tune into our regular monthly meetings (Jamuary through May and September through November) both in person (see the web site) or via our Zoom link. On the later a direct request is required to obtain the meeting ID and pass code. Meetings are the 3rd Thursday of the month unless otherwise noted.

Our current web site is modelshipwrightguildwny.org. Please check back occassionaly as we may be moving to a different support service. You may contact us through this forum. The web site also has a vehicle to contact me directly as I opened up a portal to my mail provider. How well it works I have yet to check.

You may be interested to know that our logo was produced through a contest we hosted and was developed using iterative AI editing. Just another example of our embrace of today's technologies.
