Monday at 02:48 AM4 days I recently ordered and received the set of sixteen sheets of plans for the gunboat Philadelphia from the Smithsonian. It is actually now called the National Museum of American History, but it will always be just the Smithsonian to me. 🙂Thankfully, I wanted the entire set but there was no way to know before ordering what was actually included. Wednesday at 12:33 AM2 days When I got mine, a few years back, they cost something like $120.00. Size is "HUGE"... like 5 feet long each page. “I don’t make mistakes — I create ‘historically plausible variations.’”
Wednesday at 07:15 PM2 days Author The plans are 3' x 4'. The images on some are smaller than that.The cost is $10 per sheet plus $5 per tube for mailing. Mine came rolled in two tubes, eight sheets per. So, $170 in total.They are shipped USPS but I had them within 10 working days from post of my request.From their email to me:Please indicate which plan and sheets you wish to receive and enclose a check or money order payable to the Smithsonian Institution for the total amount. Do not send cash. We cannot accept credit card or PayPal orders. Foreign orders are sent by First-Class International mail and may require additional customs duties, which would be an additional US $25.00. All orders are handled by mail.
