Thanks Jim!
Managed to get a bunch of work done this morning, so spent the afternoon at the bench, which was a much-needed respite - this time of year my evenings and weekends get soaked up with work, so it's nice to get ahead of it a little bit....
In any case, today I stepped the foremast & rigged the foresail (throat and peak halliard, sheets and topping lift), and since this didn't take quite as long as I thought it might, I also managed to add some stays. The jibstay is seized to the foremast at the trees and feeds through the bowsprit to become the upper bobstay, half the length of which is chain. The forestay starts its run as the triatic stay, seized to the main mast just above the masthead, fed through a hole in the foremast, and then run down through the bowsprit where it becomes the lower bobstay, almost all of which is chain. The main topmast stay is a simply single line seized to the topmast head and to an eye on the aft side of the top of the foremast. Nothing too difficult. Rigging is by far my favourite part of model ship building so it has been fun.
Enjoy the photos and bye for now
