Advice on making deadeye collars around masts

Also worth noting that these collars would have been served all over them. At 1/64 this is very doable (with magnification help) but a bit fiddly. If you go to the trouble it does make a significant difference in the model.

As the original poster asked for a picture here is one. Note this is not a collar, but the principle is the same, a block attached with a strop to a yard secured in place with a lashing.

The first picture shows the block with the stop and eye splices off the yard and the second with it lashed in place.

What did you receive today?

Only a tiny tin of paint, but a big deal as it's a brand new colour for me. Thus far I have only ever painted in black, white and red (maybe a little copper here and there).

This blue is for my DoK build 🙂

Thanks, but I'm afraid you may have to wait a while. I'm very close to getting back into the modelling after a long summer break, but I have to finish Sherbourne, and then Indy awaits, already started. I don't think I'll jump Surprise ahead.
